PhD Student

Jae Yup KIM received his B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2025. During his undergraduate studies, he received the Dean’s list award for four consecutive semesters. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering at HKUST.

Huixin JIN received the Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc.) degree in Electrical Engineering and the Master of Applied Science (MASc.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2021 and 2023, respectively. Her master’s research focused on the design of phased antenna arrays for wireless and satellite communication systems. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Her current research focuses on integrated circuit design for next-generation communication and neural implant technologies.

PhD Student

Fang DING received his B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ) in 2025. Through a 3+2 bachelor's–master's program, he began his graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2024. In 2025, he joined the Microwave and Antennas Group (MAG) at EPFL, where he conducted his master's research. He is currently a PhD student in ECE at HKUST. His research interests mainly focus on radio-frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) and power management integrated circuits (PMICs) for brain–computer interface (BCI) systems. Outside research, he enjoys hiking, racing, and spending time with horse and dog.

PhD Student

Toni LEUNG received his B.Eng. in Electronic and Computer Engineering and M.Sc. degree in Integrated Circuit Design Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in ECE at HKUST. His research mainly focuses on the design of neural implants.
